hi, I need some help, I've noticed that as the game goes on in single-player, the other factions has increasingly larger fleets, and i'm just wondering how I could increase my ones as well? can I earn command points in-game somehow?

Theres' several techs in the Diplomacy branch (left side) that increase your command points, such as Improved Fleet Management and the like. I know there's one tech that gives you like, 2 CP's for each ship class you have unlocked, which is useful.

This wiki page has the names of those technologies, which you can type into the search box in the tech tree (bottom right) to make them easier to find. One of them as AlexiaAtis mentioned gives command points for each ship class unlocked, the other three just give a set number.



The different ship classes are in the expansion tech tree (the bottom one).

Also there is a faction trait called "Big Fleets." Which can add up to two more CP's

hmm... you should really try to at least keep within fairly close range of where the AI opposition are in tech... or you are likely to get too far behind to win... if you delay your military techs too long, which includes fleets, then you run the risk of being overwhelmed by the AI... usually, at the lower levels, I'm ahead or well ahead... however, on the higher levels, some catching up is normal because of the bonuses the AI gets at those levels... make sure you go for the +40 science as soon as is practical, this will make a huge difference to your game.
