System AI doesn't seem to do anything anymore

I last played a few months ago, after Rise of the Automatons. I used the AI to manage my systems a lot when I was new, and gradually started to manage them myself. I remember the AI doing improvements pretty much every turn, and always resorting to Ind-Sci or Ind-Dust if there was nothing left to do.

I've been wanting to play again, so I redownloaded it, and started up a new game. I colonized three systems, put AI on all of them, but nothing happens. No improvements are built, no, Ind-Sci or Ind-Dust, nothing. Even stranger, if I put an Ind-Sci/Ind-Dust myself, the AI takes it off on the next turn.

Am I missing something? Did the AI behavior change? I even started a new game, thinking that one might be bugged, but the same thing happens. smiley: frown

I think you are playing the Automatons.

The AI takes into account that they have interest on stacked industry and will usually not queue something before the gauge is filled to roundabout 60% (which roughly takes 3 turns) or the building can be finished immediately.

It might look and feel a little weird.

If you play any other race but the Automatons it will act as usual once again.

I normally check the governor via the Turn-Building-summary. If I play Automaton I check the system list to see that noone is building something I don't like.
