I know they have notable amounts of crew, but its not like I'm taking an entire city with me per ship or something. Colonizers have the -100% effect twice, which looks like it should shrink growth during construction but it doesn't (thank goodness), it only shrinks when the colonizer is built.

Actually, the last point was that only colony ships freeze growth during construction and take 1 pop when done.

Ships containing troop modules should take 1 pop per troop module, too. I have no idea whether they freeze growth, too. Something else I'll have to try out, myself.

I actually like it. It makes the Automaton's affinity more useful than it was before. Now the requirement of keeping an empty queue for population growth makes it so that when the Automatons start building again, they get a huge boost, something the other factions don't have.

Unless you're the Harmony, when it appears all ship hulls freeze growth during construction rather than just the colony ship.

That's my interpretation too. Can anyone confirm/deny that this is how it works? I never saw this on any of the Harmony race descriptions.



(Also is the performance on this website grinding to a halt?)
