Has anyone tried ES on an Atom Tablet?

Hi guys!

This is my first post here on the forum. I've been playing endless space on my MacBook Pro for some time now and really love the game.

Now, I in search for a tablet for photography and blogging. I'm an amateur photographer and as I want to run captureOne Express as my main Editing and importing tool on a tablet, it has to be a windows 8 machine.

As the surface pro 2 is basically as fast or even faster than my macbook pro 13" late 2012, I have now fear of running endless space on this beast of a tablet. The problem with powerful tablets is that they are expensive and the batteries are not as good, so I'am looking into the coming generation of Intel BayTrail powered tablets. As I know how CaptureOne worked on my old 15" CoreDuo MacBook Pro from 2006, I think I can handle it on an Atom based tablet.

But how about playing games or in this case playing endless space? I would really like to use a digitizer pen for my favorite 4x game!

Long story short, has anyone of you tried ES on a tablet or an old laptop to compare?

Cheers,

I play Endless Space on a Surface Pro. Unfortunately fleet movement does not play nice with touchscreens at all, due to needing extremely accurate targeting of the cursor, mouse-overs when selecting multiple fleets and right-clicking. The Surface stylus didn't work properly in-game either. You're gonna need a mouse to play.

4x games (and turn-based games in general) are a great candidate for touch interfaces though. It would be really cool if Amplitude adapted ES's ui for touch.
