Can't connect to online server

I can't connect to the online server.

I try to play with some friends, they invite me (through steam), I accept, I get the "Connecting to server. Please Wait..." and after about 15-20 seconds, I get thrown back to Main screen.

I've also tried joining them manually through steam by rightcklicking them etc. Same thing happens.

I've tried to join their game and others through the "Join Game" menu. Same thing.

I've tried hosting the game and they to connect to me, doesn't work either.

A really annoying part here when I host is when I switch to either "Private Multiplayer" or "Public Multiplayer" I get "Connecting to server. Please Wait..." and after 15-20 seconds i get a message in the lobby chat that " ... (me) trying to connect..." and "... (me) have joined the game". Nothing else. No error messages at all. Since my friends can't connect I think there should be error messages when I know I have a problem.

I have also tried doing this by looking through the ports (steams and Endless spaces), disabling the anti-virus (have learned my lesson with Avast, not falling for it again), firewall, reinstalling, removing redistrubutable packages and then reinstalling, and used my google-fu to try to solve this problem. All I have found is unsolved entries from january (also in june, august). 2013. Exact same problem.

Have also tried in both Classic and Disharmony

When I use my girlfriends computer and using my steam account and try to join them however, I connect immediately and no problem at all. Her computer is about 4-5 years old, mine is new since last fall.

Network is built that there is only me on a port in the router and she is on another port and then straight out on the internet.

Else over this I have no problem running the game. I also have this kind of problem with Red Alert 3 and connecting online, not allowing just my particular computer.

What can I do to solve this problem? I want to be able to play with my friends.

Could I get atleast get an answer if this is being looked into or anything? It has been a week already...

another thing that I tested, Switching out my router. Didn't change anything.

I knew it was a weak-shot but I needed it changed anyway for other reasons.

Sure is fun isnt it? All I want is a response. Don't care if they can help me at the moment or not, just an answer that they have seen this... What kind of customer service is this?

Hello Zakallamo,

I apologise for the late answer, we are heavily focusing on Endless Legend these days, with its upcoming release.

Keep in mind that Endless Space has been released two years ago (with lots of post-release support, free add-ons and one expansion pack). The thing is that we have moved on to other projects: we did however promise to come back to Endless Space, once Endless Legend is officially released and that we have more visibility on our projects.

Please check out this blog post, written by AmpliMath, our CEO, for more details on this matter: Here

Hello there,

It seems that your issue comes from your internet connection and especially your router. You should ask more information to your internet operator.

I also suggest you to read the multiplayer points in this thread.
