Invalid Install Path

I bought this game on steam a couple days ago and it wont install. After clicking install, it goes through the normal routine of allocating disk space for the game but unlike normal, before it starts, an error message pops up saying 'invalid install path'.

A friend of mine suggested making a new steam library to install it to but this did not solve the problem. My hard drive still has plenty of space, but I don't know much else about pc's. I'll need a detailed walk through of how to solve this please?

I suggest you to try this workaround:

There is no game folder in Steam for Endlessspace, am I missing something here? Thanks for trying to help but from what I can see, nothing listed on that page helps solve my problem.

Ok! My bad, I misunderstood your issue, sorry about that. I suggest you to choose manually to install the game in the same place as your other Steam games. It should be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common

How would I manually install the game? I only have ever needed to click install and let it do its thing, this problem is a first for me...

Do you have already installed the game? If yes, could you please try to do this:

Right Click on Endless Space in your Steam Library > select Properties > Local files > Browse local files. You should see Endless Space installed here: Yourdisk:\Steam\steamapps\common\Endless Space

Is it what you see?

No the problem is the download wont start, before steam starts to download the game, it allocates space for it, the error message pops up there. So I don't even get to see a percentage of the installation done, as it doesn't really start.

It is indeed really odd!

Can you try completely closing steam? Then, right click on steam and choose "Run as Administrator". Once you do that, try installing the game again.

I've done some researches on internet.

The Steam users who got the same error as yours have fixed it by doing one of the following workarounds:

-Restarting Steam & try to reinstall the game.

-Close Steam. Then, right click on steam and choose "Run as Administrator". Once you do that, try installing the game again. Source

-Refreshing the Steam installation. More information in this thread. (Even if it's not the same game, it is a path issue).

-I've also seen this thread which might help you: link

If it doesn't work, I suggest you to also contact Valve directly about your issue.

Note that I might have more information about this issue Monday. (I still think that contacting Valve is a good idea here).
