Audio fail initializing at start

Hello there,

I ran through the forum but cannot find any helpful thread regarding my problem.

When I start the game, the amplitude video lauch correctly (and with sound), then the Iceberg Interactive Intro Animation follows correctly (with sound) and from the next screen I cannot hear any sound. I can play the game but soundless (which clearly sucks as the music and sounds are beautiful).

At first : the game ran well earlier and I didn't change anything (well, that i'm aware of). I tried to uninstal/reinstall/reboot (several times), also verified integrity on steam but still have the problem.

This is the only game with this kind of fail, all others run well. My OS's Win 10.

Please help me, I can't play like this. I put my outputlog here.

Thank you for your report. Was the game working before you upgraded to Windows 10? We looked at your output log but, apart from the clear issue with the sound files not loading, we couldn't find anything. Are you using a specific set up or USB headphones?

Could you also copy paste the audio folder path (the one that is on Steam > Steamapps > Common > Endless Space)? We know that "exotic" locations or renamed folders can create issues like this one.

I saw this on the outputlog : [AudioManager] Fmod error reported: ERR_FILE_NOTFOUND - File not found. (there are 2 more lines like this one, just bellow it on the log)

And the global path is : E:\Jeux installés\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Endless Space

The path with soundtrack : E:\Jeux installés\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Endless Space\Soundtrack

I also got 2 others directory where I see the word "audio" : E:\Jeux installés\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Endless Space\Public\Audio

and E:\Jeux installés\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Endless Space\Public_xp1\Audio

Actually, it's not only the "background soundtrack music" but also the sounds, effects and so on which do not play. It's clearly no sound at all ^^'

Hello,

Thanks for the informations, the problem is that your game and your game data are installed in a path that contains accents. Unfortunatelly the audio software that we used for Endless Space does not support accents in data path

I know it is not the most beautiful fix but you should rename your game folder in "E:\Jeux\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Endless Space" or "E:\Installed games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Endless Space" or anything you want without accents.
