Hey I'm having this error message now 140 (or what) rounds in the game right after hitting the end turn button:

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

...is the overall problem, it seems, and then more text lines follow, shown in the screenshot.

Screenshot:

Endless Space Disharmony 1.1.58

(Mod: A Galaxy Of Endless Diversity 1.5.0)

Savegame: HISSHO - Zug 141.bin.zip

Log: Player.log.zip

Specs:

iMac (Late 2012) // OS Yosemite

2,9 GHz Intel Core i5

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

Any idea what that is ? I read about other nullreference problems, some of which had been fixed by updates it seems. My problem occured at a round (some 140) that I hadn't reached before, haven't been this deep into the rounds before.

I have encountered such problems in my play, albeit rarely. Usually reloading an earlier save (maybe a turn or two earlier) allows to circumvent the issue. smiley: smile

have tried, doesn't do it for me though smiley: frown ...i went back a couple rounds, it always starts with that message at around 140 or 141.

and then i could hit "back to desktop" or "continue" but when i do continue, it's stuck with the blurred out screen and nothing happens.

Unfortunately, I don't think our team has the resources to look into bugs that occured in games started with mods, especially considering that the former Endless Space team is hard at work on Endless Space 2...

I have to admit that your guess is as good as mine. The only issues in which such similar error messages weren't resolved by loading an anterior save were desyncs occuring in multiplayer games. You didn't mention other players so I'm supposing you're indeed playing single player, so the last suggestion I'd have besides "try without the mod" would be "load an autosave from 10 turns earlier and try to go about things a bit differently, see if it avoids whatever caused that issue".

I'm sorry I can't be of much more help.

NullReferenceException indicates that you are trying to access member fields, or function types, on an object reference that points to null. That means the reference to an Object which is not initialized. More about.....NullReferenceException

In this case it appears a modder has removed something that should not be.

For example, in the following block which is a tech that allows you to exit a wormhole at any known wormhole:
TechE18

%TechE21Title

%TechE21Description
if you physically delete the line to disable this tech. the game will crash at startup. In this particular case, setting Access="Hidden" removes it from the tech. tree.

There are other cases when you remove a block of code, the game will play but eventually you will run into the null pointer reference you're getting.
