I'm trying to get ES to work again on a buddy's computer--



A few weeks ago everything was working perfectly

suddenly, it's not even loading on bootup -- Steam just sits there and stares at us, judging

We attempted a reinstall but have had no such luck-- it still fails to load



details upon request-- otherwise, I'm at a loss

Considering you have provided no details, I'm obviously gonna have to request a few.

It's Legend-focused but there's a lot of general troubleshooting information in there.

This is a Window 10 "Feature" and started with the 12/15/2015 update.



As a work-around, hit ctrl-alt-delete, cancel out of the menu (where you would normally select "task manager") and you will be presented with a pink screen. This is the opening credits, just hit enter a couple of times to get to the ES loading screen and the game works fine from there.

I found this on the Steam forums: (I thought it might apply)



"Try going into the game's directory in your Steam directory, right click the executable, set it to run as admin in Windows 7 compatibility mode. That worked for me (launching from Steam it will obey the properties you set on the executable, its just like a shortcut)"
