I know this a newbie question, but how do these two traits affect you?

People seem to like Rebellion on the forums. While this is good for dust, wouldn't Deep Roots keep systems in the colony stage longer and slow down the growth of expansion disapproval? - or do these traits do something totally different that I haven't gathered yet?

Rebellion speeds up the rate you can gain/lose control of a system, Deep Roots slows the speed you gain/lose control of a system.

Neither affects the outpost->colony stage.

I also very much do not recommend Deep Roots if you have any desire to fight wars of conquest. The rate of ownership gain is I think 2% a turn if you use the most expensive Deep Roots trait.

I don't think anybody quite understands exactly how deep roots / rebellion work. At least on this thread, there is no answer:

/#/endless-space/forum/27-general/thread/10029-invasion-recovery-works!

The "control" statistic is not affected by deep roots / rebellion, and that one is easy to understand. Ownership affects approval in a way which is hard to understand. Deep roots / rebellion affect ownership in a way which is hard to understand, making the combination very hard to understand. If anybody can explain the exact effects, please drop by the linked thread to explain.
