Im just curious where and when is a good time to join matches. I saw somewhere where one has to change regions to find a game which regions are a good place to look and when is a good time to go. I am eastern time myself plz list time zone if not eastern when you list the time. Also does anyone meet over a voice program such as ventrilo, mumble, team speak or raid call? I know I can set up a free channel on raid call but the others require paid accounts to activate so I would join yours but Im not paying for one myself cause I are poor.

whats eastern? as in US east? Change regions to wherever its 4pm-1am in the world.

Eastern Time zone is the time zone I live in. Yes its the US one but I think there is only one time zone named Eastern time zone. That said if you dont live in the same zone as I do and you MP frequently please post a good time to look with your time zone and which region I should join.

I play australia time 7-11pm mostly.

And no there are like 5 time zones called eastern time (EST) zone (for different continents basically, eg, eastern european time zone, eastern australia time zone). Sorry but world doesn't revolve around the US.

Anyways I think there would be a decent amount of games when its 7-10pm your time as well. If you play at a different time (eg if you work nights), then change your steam download region to whereever it corresponds as 5-10pm.

Region locks is one of the most stupid and backwards features I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing.

The sooner the region lock is gone forever, the better humanity will be for it!

I didnt say I think the world revolved around the US. Obviously the world revolves around China. I honestly didnt realize there were multiple Eastern Time Zones because lets face it there are only 24 time zones how hard would it be to come up with one unique name for each. I nominate Pedro for the new name of US eastern time zone.

Yep. And this brings me again and again to the simple question: WHY THE HELL is there no classic TCP/IP multiplayer option in Endless Space? Why use this buggy steam crap???

cause then no one would buy it...why if everyone would play via hamachi/tunngle?

and btw a lot of people use steam without a single problem! (yes there is some global...but they are not constant and not often)

yea region lock is stupid... I wonder why they don't get rid of it... civilization 5 uses steam servers and has no region lock so far as I know.

Okay, now there will also be less and less people who buy the game because I (and a lot of other annoyed people) won't recommend buying it (for now).

And having fear of software piracy is a ridiculous argument and we as buyers have to suffer from this...

You guys are over-complicating it. Really , the only two regions to worry about, as far as playing Endless Space is concerned, are Europe and the US. If you pick any city in Europe , you see all European games in the lobby, likewise, if you pick any US city region, you see any US game in lobby, time zones make no difference whatsoever. You'll just have to take my word for it with about 1,0000 MP hrs logged since release.

Even then the Regions are only divided during peak hours, late night and early am , they are merged.
