Maybe wrong region - or really nobody online because of the connection issues...

Sadly, most, like myself, who used to play MP everyday, after too much frustration have had to shelve ES due to the well documented de-sync problems and connectivity issues. However, it looks like the next add-on is planning on solving most MP problems including the split regions. So, we all may be back soon.

I only ever play 'private' games - not sure if those would even show up?

I have been playing most days in public multiplayer.... Just make a game and people will join eventually. Get the timezone right in Steam... EU / US .... next week this will be updated to global i believe in add on. I also believe and hope the sync issues are resolved.

Let us hope not too much. The incompetence of Amplitude seems to be endless regarding the dysfunctional MP for months now...

TCP-IP connection mode NOW!

You should know that we are doing our best, despite being barely 20 people here at Amplitude... smiley: frown As for the TCP-IP connection mode, it doesn't make much sense; maybe I am misunderstanding your request. Also, for you information, Steam handles these connections, not us (keep in mind that Endless Space has Steamworks integration).

So why do other games have the possibility to connect directly to your friends? Because it's easy, robust and does not rely on any Steam servers... As you mentioned on the dev blog, MP dysfunctionality seems to be related to Steam issues. So the consequence might be to give players the opportunity to connect without Steam smiley: biggrin

That's an incredibly clueless and unhelpful comment. Hardly constructive or a productive way of getting positive feedback and support from the developers.

As Steph mentioned, Endless Space utilises Steam for multiplayer connectivity. This is a service used by millions of players on a daily basis and generally works very well. About 80% of my games have been multiplayer in the past months and we've had exactly 2 seperate instances where the game froze. In both instances the *entire* of Steam had collapsed, not just Endless Space. So as regrettable and annoying as your issues might be - instead of making a blanket statement in an aggressive and insulting tone, you could also describe your exact problem so that the developers can replicate your situation as closely as possible and thus find a solution.

You could also consider the fact that ultimately part of the problem can be at the user end. As is the nature of multiplayer online connectivity in general.

Edit. Just to respond to your last reply - what about actually suggesting this functionality in a more calm, mature and explanatory manner? People tend to respond a lot better when you give them a little respect and explain why you are suggesting something. Generally speaking, opening with an insult doesn't get you very far. That's advice for life in general, not just this particular instance.

Granted!

So... that's what I've been doing over the last 4 months smiley: cool Check my posts in the corredsponding threads dealing with these issues. No lack of details, but no informative response from the devs or a fix either... At this point in time now, I end up just being pissed. Sorry for that.

Check my posts and my remarks that I am trying to play the game with 2 friends of mine who live at different places, have different hardware... and so on. And by the way, we are not any idiots playing a computer game just from time to time. smiley: kitty

There are things you should not do and you know that you should'nt do them. Yet, at some point, you just lack the patience. I am so sorry. smiley: smile

Well I am very polite most of the time and try always be nice to people, but I have to go with nexinex on this one. I am totally offended that I payed quite a sum of money for this game to play it MP with my friends and the developers have done nothing in the last months to fix the issues. If I would work like that I would get fired and I do work for the government! So please devs fix this game. Just get your arse up before christmas and fix the MP and then you can go on a 6 months holiday or whatever suits you! We do have customer rights in the EU and some game makers have been sued for not having a working MP although it said so on the box!
