Hey guys, first time posting here!

Beforehand, I'd like to say I just finish the free weekend and played 17 hours in 2 days lol, ended up buying the game it's really amazing! I'm still picking everything up since it's a very complex game, but I guess I'll get there eventually :P

On to my question, I don't know if this has been asked before so sorry if it has :P

Are there plans to include sort of team chat or whispers when you create an alliance? It's really annoying to have everyone in the game know what you're saying to the alliance or friends :P

That's it.

Thanks smiley: smile

The trend shows that mp will likely never be improved. Even g2g votes are always un favor of non-gameplay sp things.

Given that most of the core gameplay designs were made based on the fact that the game does have multiplayer, this is a silly statement.

In terms of G2G votes - whichever option the majority of the player base wants first, gets implemented first. It's always been said that this doesn't mean the other things don't get implemented - they just have to wait for an appropriate time further down the line.

To be fair to the original poster, that only really works when playing with friends/people you know. I certainly wouldn't add everyone I meet in random multiplayer to Skype and/or Steam. smiley: smile

Team Chat and the ability to 'whisper' people as per other games (Civ V for example) are pretty handy in multiplayer games and not extremely complicated to implement.

In fact, playing without whispers or even "message system" in dyplomatic tab, is kinda terribly awful in game like this O.o

In fact, IMHO the game consist no diplomacy so far. Only some mere imitation.

Strictly mp related issues are unlikely to be cleaned up anytime soon, as the community thus far is single player oriented. We know this because the majority votes that way, and there has been, prior to free weekend, a practically non-existent mp community. This is not to say some things have not affected mp. Obviously any change to the game affects multiplayer somehow, as it changes the game somewhere, or adds something to it. Yet multiplayer has a different focus than single player. Single player tends to just want more cool stuff to do, use, and explore. It's a pve game at that point. Multiplayer people tend to strive towards better game balance, a variety of viable strategies, and nothing particularly overpowering (all this is balance related), game stability, and then more neat stuff.

I believe I have seen some crashes and such corrected within the patch notes, are they major or minor ones, i do not know. But i do know that games still crash/desync too often. Conversely, I have no issues with Civ, or any other game. Granted it is a small studio, and they may have only a small number of people qualified to clean up certain problems.

It is very discouraging as a mp user to see G2G votes consisting of fluff and things that should almost all be in the game anyways, as basic things. Alliance chat, player whispering, should be in the game. If there was a G2G vote on it, it would fail, because it has no impact in single player, the community would vote for pretty comets. Perhaps a year or so from now, when everything is implemented, it may be the greatest space 4x game ever, but at this point, its a beta. Why are we voting on which 5 of 15 achievements are included in the game? How about just include all 15. Why were there no automaton ship models, and now there is a reward for them, even tho it was half-assed to begin with. Are we required to achieve some kind of goal in order to have things completed entirely and properly? I do believe that most G2G failed votes will come around again or be implemented at some point without a vote, as time allows. Yet an unreliable mp game would seem like a major priority. By the time it happens, it is highly likely nobody cares. Too little, too late.

And sir, until there is a G2G voting option that includes "fix the desync/crash issues", we will never really know for sure what the community wants. I want the game and studio to succeed in all aspects, just often... its like... falling on deaf ears.

You know... That's pretty sad for me...

Cause I bought this game specifically to play multiplayer... And seeing such attitude at some early beggining... Ehh... Sad, so sad...

YES! And looking at all the strategy games that have ever been released with MP it should have occured to the devs that this feature MAY be important...
