NO or toogle on/off

Ill try to explain my opinion.

Only very bad players took score to consideration, it is valuable only in case if you know that other race is similar to yours, so scor show difference between two players, BUT:

Clasical situation

Fast expander has score 400-1000 at turn 40, while others barely have 200, mainly 100+.

A full militarist usually will have 140 at this point, but if he has good build he will be able to capture one plant by another. Even if FE will have weapon modules and ships 2-3 tiers higher.

Diplomatic build usually has 200-300 points at turn 40, but after 20 turns he catches 1500-2000 points without any problems, in fact scoors halp him to make good aliances.

Mass builder is slowes to gain points, but behave like a tank, without cooperation of other players or scientific/teretory/diplomatic victory, builder's foes will be doomed.

Point DOES NOT show difference between diferent builds, only difference in simmilar builds

I also really would like the option. I'm playing with hardcore turn-based strategy fans and this game is definitely giving away too much information. As long as there's no espionage to "unlock" these reports they should be hidden.

Civ 4 may act as a role model here.

Make it a choice. More competitive multiplayer games may wish to use the option to hide the score, just so that the game is more interesting and people base their strategy around what they think, rather than "what the score says," which is not comprehensive anyway. Someone may have more tech than another person, but that doesn't mean they have as great of military tech, and their fleets are flimsy because of it.

When playing single player the score is essential for gauging how well you are doing against AI. It's a learning tool.

Hide it, score isn't anyways reliable.. Ship designs and tech weight way more than numbers.

like the idea of this! hide the score system and add a spy system that say you can scout their miltary strength exact amount of ships and ship setups. and same for the other stuff like amount of Terran planets etc.

Also would mean that you wont be like i got 1000 score they have 400 ill just absorb these into my empire. awakened a sleeping dragon over a single system...

Also id just like to note that a lot of the newer folks don't seem to understand that a score doesn't necessarily mean they are strong or weak, the entire score is a compilation of everything from FIDS MP research and the like, someone may have a shit ton more research done but almost nothing in the way of military compared to someone with a much lower score who could have a pretty decent military but economy may be suffering.

Poor Cravers.

Anyway, I would like to have it as an option, just to see the differeces of playing with and without.

Well, I voted "no" for overall - and it's an option I wouldn't ever see myself using. However, I'm all for choices, so if it can be added as a toggle option for those that want it, I'd support that.

Some people are quiting game only because of low score as compared with other players. Thats should be hided definitely

Option: make a spy in diplomacy to see enemy statistic. There are already hero trait avaliable to do this.

Agreed, I think the score showing is more of a problem for people who are new or people who are playing with new players. Which isn't a bad thing; but you're also hurting games made up of experienced friends and players, where people don't care about who has a low score value, but who has the high score value.

Perhaps, as a change, instead of hiding all the scores, you simply only show the score of the person with the highest score?

I voted no

While I see th epoint that poeple quit because of low score and agree that it is a problem, I also know that with good players it keeps the players aware of wahts going on and , from my own experience a few times, enable them to band together against the strongest player, which makes the game more interesting.

The fact that the polls tipped in favor of "Yes" scares me.

If you're going to hide it, at least make it a toggle in the game options.

i would say remove overall score, but leave the science, fleet, and fids ranking visible.

An option to remove this would be awesome, it almost like spying but without any of the work.

Score, FIDS, Resarch and Fleet rankings are all important in gauging how you stand in the grand scheme of things. Nonetheless, options are always nice, and it would be favorable to have it as a setting.

I agree with adding this as an option, but not outright removing it. It might be a pain in multiplayer lobbies where people will ragequit, but if you're playing with a bunch of friends whom you know well then, like other said, they could gang up on you. Basically, if you play with people who you trust not to leave the game, then you would probably WANT the score there.

Might be more challenging without the score value, but more confusing too - good point with the hero trait!

Would not mind an option to turn it off or on or a science tech to see human stats but having it out right hidden in my opinion is bad. If you are able to get a crazy score and everyone else quits well you won. Or they could all gang up on you mmmmm decisions.

What do you think people about to hide this SCORE VIEW only for game with higher difficulty level ?

added:

Every person i spoke in game about that... agree to hide score. Because its a bit hump to see less points than others.

One game I had 1500 points, and rest below 600. So they decision to not play more because not seeing future to win.

It's not my fault they involved in war and me in economic boost.

Score should be definitely HIDED.

Hi

I can understand why you're asking for that, but I can only disagree with you. Maybe have it as an option, yeah, but that's as far as it should go.

You know, you're not forced to play with people if they're bad players ... (bad players or bad loosers, and rather stupid in this case because scores change fast)
