Well, Endless Space is one of my favorit 4x games in the past few years and i enjoy it very much. What get's me a bit confused is the host part of the game in multiplayer. Currently i cross fingers for every open game i'm joining. 90% end up by a host problem and the rest goes down by desync. I really can't count the games i have to play to the end in singleplayer after host droped the game.



Let's see what happens:



- if you attack and crush the host-player -> game over

- if host doesn't want to continue -> game over

- if anything happens to the host -> game over

- should one try to re-host -> desync or missing players -> game over

- as for re-host...you could not invite players that are not in your steam-friendlist...and no one want's to spend all time making friends while you just want to play -> game over



Solution:



Probably it is possible to handle hosting like at Civilization MP. If a host drops out, the next player in the list takes over hosting. All games are connected toward the Amplitude servers...so i can't see any reason for not finding a solution.

Second...let's get players a 're-join' button for games he was in before...or at least a filter much like the friends game button which seems quite useless if you don't have the host in your friendlist at steam.



I searched the forum for hosting issues, but didn't find anything about that special problem.

Is there allready a patch underway to change the hosting?
