Apparently rumours have gone out regarding players having succesfully altered the game in ways that allows for late-game techs from start?

It's just a rumour so far, I've got no concrete proof, but has anyone else witnessed this type of stuff?

No but I saw a guy with unlimited faction trait points.... The game should really sum up the faction trait points as looking at them manually takes time and if someone is sneaky enough there is no way to tell other than to build out the faction they created yourself....

I suppose it should be very easy to verify that rumor in MP, and there should be an option to blacklist / ban said person for such behavior.

Are you talking about something other then mods or edited maps...that have been around as long as the game has?

My bad, I thought he meant someone can hack the game and give themselves bonuses - without them being the host and using a custom map / settings / mods w/e. As in I join your game and I do hocus-pocus and end up with tier 3 techs at start of game or have unlimited dust whatever lol smiley: smile

Oh, well if it's not the host doing it then yeah that would something new and actually my bad. I imagine it's not that difficult to actually accomplish though, just a matter of sending the right messages to the host I would think though perhaps there is some protection against that, I've never looked into it, though it wouldn't surprise me if others have.

And that, Waylander, was exactly what I was wondering. Endless dust convertible in gold exchanged on a secondary market?

It just all seems rather pointless, the challenge is the better half of the gameplay experience ^^

I always wonder that cause if you didn't want a human challenge why are playing multiplayer in the first place right? But there are always those that try to cheat in just about any multi-player game so I suppose ES will be no different.

if you use a save editing tool, like the one here, and you rehost a desynced game you can extremely easily edit it however you like, that is the most likely cause of this - there wont really ever be a way to counter act it :c, we'll see less issues once the sync fix comes in

Also, on a side note about the sync fixes, if they are fixing it how i suggested, we'll see a sync check and force sync to "prevent regression" im guessing, which will dissalow any kind of memory editing in the game, causing them to revert
