Why there is not an option for offline multiplayer. Should be possible in a turn based game like this. Human vs. human battles would need some changes, but nothing that could not be done (hide "cards" selection and give more time in order that both players have time to choose their tactics).

What do you mean by "offline multiplayer"? Hot-seat-mode? LAN support?

I mean taking turns on a single computer. (is that a hot-seat-mode?) Not LAN. I want to choose that some other faction in offline game (single only mode) is controlled by a human player.

Or play by e-mail, where the turn files are attached and e-mail to and from the host.

Armada 2526: Supernova works will like this.

It has all the normal LAN options like Endless Space does but also has a pbem support. It requires a gmail account but its works well. This allows multi player games with players who are online at different times of the day.

The attachments are automaticly downloaded from the linked gmail account and dropped into the host 'processing' directory and when all turn files are in, the game processes the next turn.

Thanks for the tip but I really want to play ES, not any other game at the moment smiley: biggrin

So no offline multiplayer in Endless space I guess... is it even planned by Amplitude?

Or play by e-mail
- Originally that was on the drawing board during early alpha but I think the demand for such was extremely low (which I would expect it to be), or resources were just too scarce to spend on it when single and multi-player still needed so much attention and that's where the meat of sales were always going to come from.

LAN is probably the easiest and best route for ES to take, even the most classical strategy games has this option. Because of ES simultaneous turn system; Hot seat would be quite hard implementing without some ingenuity involved, it would be a tricky process to achieve to a pleasurable status.

hotseat isn't in your plans? and my solution to the desync issues is a rather simple one i feel, and has been ignored for months. i posted it when i made this account and i posted another thread about it three days ago, both have been ignored. so considering you guys clearly have no intent on discussing, or improving the sync issues - at least put in lan or hotseat support so we can go on garena or evolve and not these ridiculous issues. seriously.

i've played 19 games in MP, every single one has desynced before the 100th turn. i can't stomach playing more knowing that the game wont finish..

Well, hot-seat would be a very nice add-on. Since all games are connected to the servers, it should be possible. Like in Civilization there is a subbed GMR-hotseat tool to offer easy file transport. Hotseat is the perfect playstile to allow more and intensive diplomacy and as said allready to allow players on different time-frames to play together. You get enough time for micro-management and statistics. I'd be in for it..even if it would be a DLC for payment to fund the server issue.
