My friend is unable to continue our game. We had this before and had to load another save. This time however we have both played single player games and thus our autosaves or not usefull!!!



I tried to loadup the game myself and it worked perfectly!



How do I get my friend back in the game?

Just to echo our answer on Steam forums, please try to verify the integrity of your game cache. Both of you. Sometimes Steam auto-update can mess with local files.

You need to right click on the game in your Steam library > Properties > Local Files.

Steam file verification worked (also posted on steam)!



I was expecting it to not work at all because really it never works (and it always finds 1 file that failed to validate>the game exe). Still not sure why this solution worked but I am happy it did smiley: smile.

some people say they have some issues when they have to many saves so maybe try storing all other saves in a folder and seeing if it happens with one save. maybe a long shot but you never know

I got that when I manually tried to overwrite the Governor-AI with a custom one. While that should not have caused desynch, it could've been viewed as some kind of cheating.

I've just ran into this problem as of Dec 27, 2013. I tried all fore mention advice and it's not working still. Yesterday it was working and I could have fights with friends over the server no problem but today is another story. This might be a bug the developer needs to sort for me but then again I could be the only one experiencing this bug.
