So I'm trying to modify how much ships cost and how much they can hold, and I've tried modifying the Hull.xml and the Module.xml's, but nothing seems to work. I've followed the tutorials and gone through a few mods to try to get an answer, but to no avail...

Is there a trick to it?

Am I modifying the wrong files?

Are those features not enabled yet?

The features are enabled and I have modded these files with no problem. Are you modifying the files in the installation area (please say no)? Have you created your own mod with standalone=false (please say yes)? Did you look into output_log.txt to see if there are any errors, by searching for lines with "Modding"? If you have syntax errors in your files, then probably the game will ignore them. Try my instructions for modifying faction colors first, since it is easy to see whether it did anything:
