I followed the instructions on the forum, Disharmony. My question is did anyone get modding disharmony to work with using new models? Seems to work fine in classical mode as soon as I port it to the expansion pack freezes at loading window. If someone did get it to work if you have time throw me the link.. side note there is a ton of mods for this game! just kidding.

I've gotten Endless Genetics to work on expansion, although it is still broken as ever; i.e. some of the traits seem not to work, while others are just plain OP as hell (Giant Influence, Free Research).



Leviathan Mod causes insta-freeze. Haven't tried anything else yet, as playing 'Vanilla' Disharmony is pretty challenging compared to stock Endless Space.

yea, that mod doesn't use new models. Game freezes when you try to use custom models, for me at least.

well i figure it out. The game doesn't look for the "My Documents\Endless Space\Disharmony\Modding[nameofyourfolder]" folder for the models. it looks into "My Documents\Endless Space\Modding[nameofyourfolder]". I just copied the mod twice but once the ships are located into the right folder it works.



They need to fix that

ABOUT THE NEW DISHARMONY MODDING FOLDER:

In order to make your new mods appear in the mods list of the game while you are playing Disharmony, you need to put them in the folder "My Documents\Endless Space\Disharmony\Modding[nameofyourfolder]". Then to link your mods to the Disharmony expansion pack, you also need to tag them adding the marker Disharmony as a child of the marker in the file Index.xml

Even if we can't guarantee that your old mods are still working using Disharmony, you can still link them to this expansion pack.



Side note, I get the strong feeling they don't like peeps modding their game.

AFAIK, Leviathan Mod only modifies traits. I suspect the new system of traits have a conflict with the Leviathan Mod implementation somewhere.



Also, while they aren't as mod friendly as, say, WC3 turned out to be, this game receives far more support for modding than other indie games, like, FTL, for example. Its simply that modding is not and should not be their first priority when the main game itself has so many bugs and flaws.

@NewAgeOfPower- I saw an interesting talk by Gabe Newell the other day, he had some interesting points about user generated content. Whats exciting is the shear volume and quality of content the gaming community can produce when given the opportunity. Look what it did for games like Morrowind and the Civilization series. I think investing in better mod support is something they should prioritize.
