I got bored again refreshing the vote tallies so....



The Automatons rarely, if ever go to war with the intent of destroying another civilization, but after the attack on their Fleet base by a splinter faction of the United Empire the Automatons took to war. They were inexperienced and in general unprepared for the horrors of armed conflict, but the United Empire splinter faction which in fact was once a main rival to the Sheryden Division made learning the Art of war very quick. The Automatons lost most of their fleet and a large percentage of the population with the destruction of their main fleet base, but they quickly began re purposing their hundreds of platform cities to war ships. After several months of heated battles with the Splinter faction, the Automaton fleet discovered the staging area of the enemy fleets and quickly organized an offensive to bring the planet and its inhabitants to their knees. Although the war began due to an act of aggression by the splinter faction, the Automatons only wanted to cleanse the planet and allow the natural life to rejuvenate after the prolonged occupation by Humans. Being a peaceful race, the Automatons deployed their troops onto the planet and began rounding up the population to be taken off world and when this was complete they began a systematic bombardment of the major cities after which they deployed transformers and constructors from orbit to salvage the debris and rejuvenate the land. Although they themselves took many casualties, the Automatons managed to secure the population of the planet in relative safety before they wiped the planet completely clean and began installing platform cities in orbit. The information from this terrible conflict was stored away in the Elder Automaton Difference Engines where it is kept until it is needed again to protect the race and nature.



The picture shows a recently bombarded city which is now having pods descend to clean up the mess and make it usable while platform ships hover above retrieving Automaton soldiers via capsules suspended on long cables.
