Edit: gosh, they're so freaking cute!

Compared to the generic humanoid, much larger. When standing upright they'd be about ~2.5-3 meters in height.

Due to my limited drawing skills there are a few thing about this drawing that didn't quite come out right:

-I am debating on whether or not to keep the long snout

-There are supposed to be 5 digits on each limb, but I could only draw 4 without making it look weird

-The paws/limbs should be more stocky (bigger)

-They walk upright, just that it was easier to draw on all fours

You kinda did, I was referencing the picture I drew. The number is still the same, kinda like a gorilla. The shugo are adorable though

You mean the count of fingers and toes being not the same like at the shugo?

Certainly would not be an exception to have certain difference between hand and feets

if the species has evolved to walking on two legs after all.

Somehow thought about the "Shugo" out of the Aion universe but with a bit longer snout and some eyes more.

I don't know if you caught this, but their flesh is more resilient too. This also better justifies the black skin/fur color than camouflage.

Well, without powers their tissue is high in carbon and weaves cell strands much like carbon fiber or kevlar, but on a much smaller and more advanced level. Also I was thinking about them being able to polarize (may not be the best term) their fur and have it become extremely hard. Kinda like diamond micro-scales that disperse much of the kinetic energy, leaving what's left little, if any penetration.
