This has been happening on my Mac Studio M1 Max 64 GB for at least 6 months.  Inconsistent as to how many turns it takes, sometimes it's 100+, most recently only 50 or so.

Hi, same issue. Starts with pauses for a few seconds then freezes lasting minutes until the Mac restarts without warning. This issue is system-wide while the game is running, not just inside the game. It will happen after a random number of turns, but the more turns into the game, the faster start after a reboot and load from save. Issue is 100% if played long enough

Same problem here, running Macbook Pro (M3 Pro, 18gb ram). Mac OS is running Sonoma 14.3, and Humankind is fully up-to-date and running all official expansions.

The spinning wheel comes up and shortly thereafter the whole system freezes and Finder restarts. I've found that if you swipe across to desktop as soon as the wheel appears you can often force quit Humankind before the whole system goes down though.

I found that stability was improved, but not totally fixed, by lowering the graphics to the lowest setting. This shouldn't be the limiting factor given the M3 Pro, but it appeared to help.

To my eyes, the ram usage when running the game, and when it froze, doesn't indicate a shortage of ram (see attached screenshots).

I've found that treating the game as though it's not Apple silicon compatible and running it via Rosetta 2 stops this crash from happening - however, battles are then graphically gliched which kinda ruins it 😔

Hope this info helps. Please fix this bug, Amplitude!! 🙏🏼
