I posted this on Reddit because I was really frustrated about the diplomacy screen in general, and the war terms screen in particular. I think that the screenshot speaks for itself in terms of just how unclear this screen is. Any other feedback y'all have for the Devs about the diplo screen?

I don't see an issue, except for 1 thing:

The surrender terms are from the enemies perspective, not yours. Should, be "Take" and "Vassalize", not "Give" and "Become Vassal"

Do you see the number of times "Give San Lorenzo" shows up with different war score values attached to them, in some cases forcing me to check the box, and not in others? What in the world is that trying to communicate to me?

Seems like you had multiple demands that all would have resulted in transfer of San Lorenzo. So you get to pick the strongest (cheapest) one.

Certainly these could be consolidated intelligently by release, but that's what it's trying to tell you.

I finished my first playthrough last night and I got in a few wars along the way... Some of the same confusing elements were present with diplomacy in my game. When 'forcing surrender' it would seem that multiple instances of the same city relate to regions that are under its control. For example, if there are three instances of San Lorenzo, it's because there are three regions connected to the city, including the city itself. At least, I think that's what is going on. It would be nice if it was more clear. I like how the map shows between the characters in the diplomacy screen; I wonder if the devs could zoom to the region in question when deciding on terms of surrender. It also isn't clear why certain regions 'cost more' than others, in terms of why one San Lorenzo costs 80, another 44, and another 42. It seems like a tooltip that appears when you hover over these differences could clear this up.

Another question I have is about trade. I can pretty easily request resources from AI, pay them for those resources, then start seeing the benefits immediately. Are we able to sell resources to AI? I am playing a merchant faction on my second playthrough and it alludes to my ability to broker resources, however I don't see a way to propose resource deals to AI. AI also haven't requested resource deals from me as far as I can see.

More diplomacy things came to mind: I really like the grievance and demand system! I like how grievances and ongoing demands create the desire for war. One gripe is that demands made by AI weren't displayed in notifications immediately; sometimes demands had been ongoing for many turns before I checked the crisis tab and saw that there was a demand there. Another issue is related to resolving demands (I don't recall the exact wording). Sometimes AI would propose a resolution to demands, yet not give in to my demands. If I accepted, it didn't seem like there was any tangible resolution (I didn't get anything) aside from forgiveness. Even forgiveness didn't improve our relationship as far as I could see. I would like to see this fleshed out a bit more.

@AuleCraft I echo everything you said. A couple of other notes about notifications and the AI: I had two AI's declare war on me and I didn't know that we were at war until they both showed up and took two of my cities because nothing ever popped up saying "you're at war". Also, I keep getting notifications saying that I'm trading a resource, and when I click on the event locator, it just zooms in on the resource, but I can't see who's buying it, or what benefits I'm getting from that interaction.
