Hey there. Long time Civilization player. Had a great time playing this snippet of the game, really looking forward to the full release in a few months. Loved how the start period was pre-city and still required some strategy, such a cool way to start the game that I have not really seen before. Not sure if this is the right place to put this but some ideas that I thought might be helpful:
1) When fighting a land war against a city, my bireme was factored into the fight from a strength perspective despite the fact that the city was 3 tiles inland. Probably should adjust for ships that could reach via artillery (late game ships)
2) One of the civs started a war with me to take a city but was unable to. They eventually surrendered and then they were able to be taken as a vassal. Seems odd that could be done to the aggressor in a situation where I did not attack them and only defended. May need some re-working there.
3) The scroll speed along the map using arrow keys should be faster or at least we should have the ability to adjust the scroll speed to fit our pace.
4) City interface:
- When purchasing buildings under the "infrastructure" tab for a city, each time you click one the entire interface almost has to do a reset, which changes the position of everything sometimes and also results in a lag. Might be nice to remove the lag time and streamline that process.
- we should be able to minimize the interface on the R side of the screen in order to maximize field of view any time we select a unit/army or city
- it would be cool to customize the size of the interface as well as the font in order to make it smaller or larger depending on the needs of the individual
5) Occasionally unit colors don't match the city/civilization color they are assigned to and are more similar to the color of other civilizations, creating some confusion during times of war when needing to get units to the right spot.
6) I was unable to build additional holy sites despite unlocking them in the religion tree. Not sure if I made a mistake or if it was a bug.
7) In the negotiation of treaties, the fix amount of money you or the AI asks for as a rebuttal to a proposal should be more flexible, allowing player to adjust the money and see if new terms are acceptable. There should be more negotiations in diplomacy in general I think.
If this is not where I should put suggestions and folks know a better space please let me know. Also let me know if you have additional thoughts with respect to these ideas. Thanks!
