Will humankind feature crossplay between all or specific platforms?

I could not find any informations on that.

Honestly I'm confused here with the announcement that humankind is going to be on game pass at launch. We never heard a word that it was being worked on for console and boom a week before launch they say it is, or atleast for Xbox. So far as cross play is concerned.... Boy do they need to talk about this because not a single beta / open dev even hinted at console. Hopefully more official announcements vs speculation will unveil itself soon enough.

For clarification: Humankind will launch on GamePass for PC, not XBox. There is no XBox or other console version.

As far as crossplay is concerned: I have checked with the producers, and have been told that crossplay should work between Steam, EGS, and GamePass.

Is this negation by omission of Stadia cross-play or just one big unknown?

Given that they include Stadia Features like "State Share" and a new direct touch control, the possible lack of crossplay seems kind of weird.

I absolutely do not hide from the fact my feelings on Stadia is biased lol. But I definitely also said you brought up an interesting point for your question, that they have it specifying it would have cross platform play. You certainly should be getting an official answer due to that.

Although one of your first statements is 'this many years after launch', which is already kinda weird for a service that's barely 1,5 years old. That doesn't help the factuality of the rest of your post :)

On topic, it's just weird that either Amplitude or Sega has put cross platform multiplayer in the Stadia description. And the fact that they still haven't changed that, even days after acknowledging that there is no cross play does not really play nice with the 'community first' narrative they are preaching.

Still looking forward to this game, but not being able to play with friends on pc is a big bummer since that was something I explicitly checked (and they explicitly stated on the Stadia Store page, thus purchases are based on that)

It is a bit disappointing and confusing. If they're willing to go through some work to add some minor Stadia-specific features, then I'd assume they'd also add crossplay unless there was some significant obstacle. I'm not sure what that could be. 

I bought it on stadia anyway. Although the lack of Crossplay is still a big disappointment.

The performance and quality on stadia is good, and the direct touch control on the smartphone works fine.

I hope they'll add crossplay at some point in the future.
