I do not have any PC but I have a stadia account meaning that I can play games through Stadia with my Ipad  and a controller.

Regarding Humankind game, is it possible to use a controller to play ?

Can we setup the controller buttons ?

Is it really playable with a controller ?

The stadia shop lists gamepad and mouse/keyboard as possible controller.

As first game it will also feature direct touch control on smartphones.

Playing with a controller is a bit cumbersome, but it's doable, for short sessions. The touch control on Android is quite good, and allows much longer sessions. However, a phone's screen is really too small to enjoy the game. If you van activate touch control on a tablet-sized screen, I guess it should be much better.

Interface can be switched to french, but the narrator's and characters voices stay in English.
