Steam HUMANKIND Digital Deluxe Edition does not include the HUMANKIND ™ Original Soundtrack ?

I pre-purchased HUMANKIND Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam. A part of it was to be a digital soundtrack - "all songs from the game HUMANKIND ™, composed by Arnaud Roy (known as FlybyNo) in .mp3 format".

Today is the premiere and I can see that I can buy the HUMANKIND ™ Original Soundtrack with a 20% discount until August 24, 2021.

What's going on here? Anyone have such a case on Steam?

Steam Help is useless, it explains nothing. Refer to the game producer's help.

It's inside your Steam installation folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Humankind\Soundtrack

Exactly. And in the library, steam these items

  • HUMANKIND™ Original Soundtrack
  • HUMANKIND™: Music for the Ages, Vol. I
  • HUMANKIND™: Music for the Ages, Vol. II
  • HUMANKIND™: Music for the Ages, Vol. III
  • HUMANKIND™: Music for the Ages, Vol. IIII

with a figure that I do not have them and I have to buy them. Steam error? Will they appear later as "owned"?

I think that’s just a normal issue with Steam. I have a similar issue with multiple other games.

That is a Steam issue or better put - the publisher or developer did not properly set up the different DLCs and whether the Deluxe edition includes the soundtrack. Keep in mind that the soundtrack is separate from the Music for the ages. Those are 8 additional hours of music that are not included in the Deluxe edition.

OK. So I would expect a Steam library HUMANKIND™ Original Soundtrack

HUMANKIND™: Music for the Ages Vol. I-IV I will gladly buy it if it is not part of the Deluxe. And something closer, how do these musical materials differ?

I want to buy the music for the ages, as a bundle, but that would mean buying the main soundtrack, which we already have from the deluxe/pre-order.

And after purchasing the deluxe version, did you have the Soundtrack visible in the Steam library or was it also "available for purchase"?

@Trejan
The soundtrack currently shows as available for purchase, even though it is included in the Deluxe edition. I would say give Amplitude at least two weeks till they iron out some of the launch issues. The game has been launched on multiple stores and this makes it a bit complicated to be integrated perfectly everywhere.

You can listen to all 4 Volumes of Music for the Ages on Youtube free of charge :

This is the producer of all music in the game and other games as well. Music for the ages is essentially additional tracks for each culture to better immerse yourself while playing with them. Have a listen on Youtube and make your decision whether it is worth buying it to be integrated in your game.

The 4 volumes on Steam include both MP3 and FLAC versions of each track. Thus if you are an audiophile it is worth buying also for the FLAC tracks.

@Lchaim
The bundle does not give you a discount on the Music for the Ages, only on the Original Soundtrack. So you are better off just adding all four volumes and avoid purchasing the soundtrack again.

OK. I just bought the Soundtrack again just to have it available in the Steam library without having to install the entire game and pull it out of a subdirectory.

My opinion is as follows: - Any additional content in the Deluxe version that is available for purchase as a separate product should have the "Owned" status in the Steam library. End of period. Why Aplitute made it so with Steam is incomprehensible to me. As a Deluxe user, I report that the current state is inconvenient and bothersome.

Don't do that anymore with the next deluxe pre-order or I'll stop buying them. I will then buy the base game separately, the additional content separately, and then it will make sense.
