I would love the ability to play with my friend as a Team in Multiplayer, just like in Civilization. Ideally with the ability to share visibility (I see what he sees and vice versa).

You can make an alliance with your friend as soon as you meet and share visibility without any need for technology unlike civ and some other games. Can't do it from turn 1 but you can absolutely still have the same effect as a team shortly near the game start once you get past nomad phase.

I'm sure they can QoL teams at some point but least you do have the means to do full co op in the game.

Does making an alliance using the diplomacy ingame makes you win the game together though ?

I'd love to get teams from the start as well, it would also allow you do to things like 2 players vs 4 AI, which you cannot do at the moment.

Oh, thank you!! This will be a good stop gap until official teams are hopefully implemented.

I am not sure if you can beat the game "together" in a joint victory condition but I mean I only see this as an issue if the elimination condition cannot be triggered because your ally exists, that'd be unfortunate.
