Ever since i preordered more than 3 months ago i was very excited for the release of Humankind . Fast forward game releases ! First impressions are wow this game is beautiful and JUST SO MUCH FUN as single player..
and then i did multiplayer....
my GOD . holy shit the desynchs !
The game is practically not playable on multiplayer without a discord room full of the players in game which i did to be able to actually play it but even then most of the times 80% ppl usually just leave after 1 -2 reloads because jesus the desynchs in this game are way wayy worse than ES2 desynchs . Then the balance issues are absurd , anyone who goes ANY agragarian civ auto wins with pop steal , with the huns its like auto win by conquering the freakin world. Civics are terrible implemented and are absurdly random and ive had games till modern era and 0 civics unlocked. War support needs to be fixed and merchant authority needs to be balanced for late game as they get 5k gold per turn...
Iam sure youre aware of all these issues already , but my point is people are refunding and leaving bad reviews because no one updates on progress , no one talks to the community at all , we dont know whats going behind the screen and as a community we would love constant feedback and reassurance from the devs ! Near the end of the Humankind release date atleast for 1 entire month there was nothing to be heard no ads no updates no nothing and at a certain point a majority of us were questioning if there was going to another delay or not.
I have had zero multiplayer desyncs so far personally. I have played with a friend across the country for about 15 hours now and have played one 3 player game for about 5 hours currently as my current experience.
Are you playing with a lot of people? Are they playing outside of your country? Possibly ISP issues if within the country based on my limited experience so far.
Personally I have not had that many desynchs. I'm holding out hope we get a patch this week or next for some balance changes, but I don't think it could address all the issues. Some issue come from how it's implemented instead of just raw numbers, like trade (it's strange me that I have like sugar and some how the whole dam world can get a copy of it), religion, and culture pressure (These two systems have very little player engagement). Other issue can be fixed though such as the production cost being WAY to high from some buildings, stability values (my last game I traded so many luxuries that my stability was always high), civics telling us how to unlock them, there should be some limit on districts so we are not just mindlessly placing and fill the map with then, they can space out the continent so we are all not discovering each other super fast, and some other things like nerfing Huns.
But yeah a little communication goes a long way in just letting us know they are working on it. I mean clearly they are working on it, but maybe take a moment to just tell us what issue they are tackling first. On a side note there are a lot of mechanics that humankind does right that other 4x and cough EL2 cough would be great to have those system in them. Like how battles work and how cities can attach land is a good system.

Yes playing with randoms all over the world and there hasnt been a single game where either of us in any game werent desynched or didnt had to reload , we tried changing hosts multiple times nothing helps.

that is my point , the Devs need to telll us something constantly , to reassure us but no one does anything and it feels like the game is left to die
