This is a VERY common occurance.  Take the example pictured below.  If I chose Uphold Worker's rights.  I get increased production and lowered stability!?!?! That is totally backwards, I should get higher stability since I'm doing what the workers want and lower production since I'm having to retool factories to be worksafe.  

This isn't the only one, like 1/3 of these events have backwards effects in them.  

I agree, some seem counterintuitive. They probably sacrificed some narrative consistency in favor of gameplay variety and choice.

It kind of feels like they tied the wrong gameplay modifier to the wrong text flavor choice.

BUT, before that, the accident occured so yeah, the stability decrease DID occur, it's not a result, it's what happened beforehand.

It says "uphold workers rights" = force laboured, so no that's definitely tied to wrong marker.

I reported an opposite effect on the Poison Apples event in the bug report forum and they fixed it in the first hotfix. So please report it. They read the bug reports.

Yeah it is backwards in MANY of the events.
