It would be nice if Amplitude published a statement as to what is going on

A lot of us feel like we're being ignored since there is no official statement regarding and of the concerns the playerbase has brought up. We'd be happy if we got an ETA on the next patch or at least a devblog detailing what is being worked on right now so we know what to expect. I mean... we've kinda pushed Humankind over all sorts of breaking points already. Asure us we're being heard, please.

This is the few information. I think devs should to present the road map of future updates. Game at current state is unplayable (multiplayer exactly)

A road map would be nice. But honestly I think they are busy with bug fixes so soon after release.

I'd like to think that multiplayer is next on the agenda. I mean, we have an entire feature of the game that doesn't work beyond 25 turns or so. I'd imagine that supersedes balance tweaks.

I hardly feel ignored, the game just launched and the devs have responded on various media, even here they have made several posts since launch. They have announced a patch and you can opt into the beta if you so incline on steam prior to its official release.

Stay tuned, much is coming I'm sure in another week or so.

How does Multiplayer not work? I play on steam with a friend and another on game pass and even the cross platform has worked fine (for us at any rate). I have had a total of one desync since launch which we fixed by loading back up the lobby and took about 30ish seconds.

it just doesnt, around 25 turns in and you get disconnected, regardless of your connection, this is not even counting the amount of desyncs.

Strange I have never had issues in multiplayer and I even pointed out cross platform with a game pass player.

While we all agree, that some bugs are hard to overlock and it you may wonder why they went live with the release version, you can assume they work hard on bugfixing their game, as you can see in the long list of fixes/changes for the beta patch. Better they continue working hard then some random dev answering here and there in the forum. And we can all assume that they have a priority list of what to fix first and what later as you can see what they tried to fix in the day one patch. I think MP disconnect issues and some of the most annoying things like player3 influence on independent people is high on the list.

My concern is more that I lost interest in reporting detailled bug reports as I've written here already.

See, this is the kind of thing that should be PUBLISHED everywhere. I visit the sub daily, and I open the Humankind page in Steam almost daily. I didn't notice a beta version was released 2 days ago. I'd like them to communicate more, or am I missing the channels?

The game is incomplete.  The plan is 'finish it'.  The ETA is "when it's done, probably several patches over the next 6 months".

They didn't need any feedback to know what needed to be fixed.  The game was simply pushed out the door early by the publisher.  They had a laundry list of things to fix before any of us even played it.  Very few of the posts in this forum are providing them with information they didn't already know (exception: a few unusual bugs here and there).

They posted it in a few places, but purposefully didn't make a big deal about it.  Seems like they wanted to keep it low key.  I noticed it on the steam forums.

They posted it on the Bug fixes/ Troubleshooting forum and on the Steam forums. I would not call that low key. They will publish an official message both here and on Steam (among other platforms) when the patch is officially released.

We already had two quick patches in the first week without any prior notes or communication. The whole process looks fine to me, they are still on the forums and working on the patch at the same time.

P.S.

There was a stream tonight with one of the designers talking about future plans and balance changes.

First of all, I know that the devs are working hard and I'm really grateful for it!

However, I'm a bit concerned that it's over a week since launch, and the first major patch is still underway and arriving (hopefully soon). Considering that how many game-breaking bugs / unbalances are not included in the patch note and how many things need to be addressed / tuned / balanced, I'm a little worried that how many weeks / months will it take to iron out everything.

In this regard, I'd also appreciate at least some sort of roadmap, update from the devs what can we expect. I'd really like to recommend the game to some of my colleagues, but I just can't in its current state.

@Melliores could you please give a short summary of what was mentioned in it? I don't have 2 hours atm. (maybe at the weekend?!)

In essence :

- They are aware of the way War support is not very intuitive to some players. Same goes for pollution - they said they will be tweaking numbers and introducing deeper mechanics to improve these two systems.

- The "proverbial short term " was used quite often by the designer Balthazar. He said there are a number of things that are on their list of features and tweaks to be added but could not make it in the 1.00 version due to time constraints or limited testing.
- In the upcoming patch they have fixed the issue with too little to none Oil and Uranium on some maps and have added a way to take over small islands.

- They are aware of the multiplayer connection issues and are also working on them. Here again was used "we will be focusing on this in the short term".

He said they have plans to work on a bigger balance and some content patches once there have been a few bug fixing patches. Then the patching will slow down a bit but will introduce more meaningful changes.

Balthazar was there for half an hour, the rest is just a game stream with Cat-O-Nine-Tails.

While the fixes cfor resource generation is in the next patch (already avilable on steam as beta patch), i dont think island fortress are fixed in this one

Sometimes the OP just needs to make an effort and look for the information the DEV has put out. Or, would you prefer the dev email you personally with an update on the next patch and thereafter?

Oh get off out of your high horse, you're being obtuse on pourpose.

OP was just asking a perfectly legitimate question. The devs did not publish this roadmap.

Thank you!

I watched the first half hour, then a little bit of the rest, it was cool in my opinion. I really liked all three of them! :D

Especially Balthazar's honesty is what I really appreciate and I'm really glad he dared to speak so openly. I really hope those patches are coming soon, as I'm already having wild dreams about dlc-s and expansions! XD

I get this post was meant as a joke, but when I read this, I immediately thought, "Yeah, like a mailing list we could subscribe to!"

(I haven't figured out how to get email responses to threads on games2gether, so *shrug*)
