I see a lot of threads and dev responses about "features", "new cool additions we'd love to add" etc. etc. but we have no word on a fix for multiplayer. We've seen 2 beta patches now and STILL no fix for this. I do not enjoy playing a 8+ hour HK match steamrolling NPC's, Its utterly boring. I play this because I want play with friends, right now this is STILL NOT POSSIBLE. I can't get a steam refund and I regret not just doing the free trial for xbox.
The game comes with a triple A game price tag yet is RIDDLED with bugs... its been an absolute waste of money. I enjoy this game over Civ 6 SO MUCH but the lack of response from the developers over this is concerning. Anyone who reads the forums knows this is a huge problem, yet multiple threads exist asking the dev's for some sort of feedback as to an ETA or SOMETHING. Can we PLEASE get some sort of official response to this matter? For a lot of us the game is just unplayable, you can fix all the bugs you want but when we waste 6-8+ hours for 4 days straight (we keep trying for some reason) only for our games to break after turn 150+ enough is enough. Your game keeps crashing, "disconnecting from host" when there was 0 internet issues by the host or the game or just plain booting people out of the loading screen. There's NO way to reconnect to an ongoing match and soon as you enter a game the lobby is gone, you cannot rejoin a game in progress.
Why in gods name do I have to spam create lobbies that just break on us, only to go and have to make a NEW LOBBY!? This isn't even a game at this point, its a freaking lobby simulator... THIS is what multiplayer looks like Amplitude.... NOT a game, Spamming codes every 3 min because the game we spent the last 10+ hours playing randomly kicks players out for no reason whatsoever... this is absolutely unacceptable.
While I don't want to defend the developers for any kind of bug but let me tell you a simple thing as a developer, fixing multiplayer-related issues is complex, hard to locate and cost more time then just simply change two lines for some basic bugs or some crash related errors that were adressed in the two beta patches. So just from a neutral point of view it is natural that it may take a little longer then just a week to fix those kind of issues.
And simply because it cost nearly the same then some AAA titles (which is not quite true, nowadays the cost 10-20 bucks more) it doesn't mean they have the same manpower behind their project. Games/Projects like The Elder Scrolls or Civilization have alot higher development costs but also probably sell alot more. So there is no correlation between sell price and manpower. And also only because you call some game an AAA title, they have the same day 1 issues nowadays.

Fair enough, I can understand that. I'm really just looking for some sort of official response to the matter because it seems the topic is falling on def ears.

I mean obviously day 1 issues are too be expected right? It isn't really the correlation of manpower so much as for the users who play for multiplayer are paying max price for a game that's unplayable for us. I've seen numerous comments that multiplayer was never tested, there are tons of threads about how multiplayer is just broken. I know this isn't the only game mode so I'm not trying to be a dick but a large part of your community play games to play with friends/community. Right now we've spent money on a game that we don't enjoy(single player), can't refund (we've all spent hours in this wonderful game!) and can't play. lol
I think to put it in perspective take call of duty for example... most of us have played a CoD game in our lifetime right? They have the "Single player story mode" (usually some short story/campaign) that's the "marketing point of the game" and then their multiplayer online Zombies/Warzone/basically all of their online game modes. Now Imagine the next CoD that dropped, had a single player story campaign but online multiplayer didn't work, you legit couldn't connect to your friends to play zombies or a domination match and all you had was the story mode, and the hopes that "they're working on it". I'm sure a ton of players would be highly upset.
That's what Humankind feels like right now, obviously not as big of a scale of CoD but I've basically plaid $60 for a single player story mode that doesn't have online multiplayer working currently. When I just want to play warzone/zombies or whatever with the boys.... and I'm not the only one here who clearly feels that way. I have a game sitting in my steam library that I desperately want to play, with friends that I'm in discord with right now as I'm typing this... there are 10 of us and we JUST CAN'T PLAY. :/
The fact you have what seems like an insane lobby creation bug and I haven't with my friends had a single multiplayer issue other than one desync issue I think goes to show how crappy it can be to figure out why you have such an extensive problem but I have no real issues.
You may have tried this already but if you played opendev they recommended at launch that deleting the folders rather than installing over them could have caused problems. Other than that I know there are some very specific Xbox gamepass issues that have to do with deleting or resetting your gamepass ID, you'll want to google that if it affects you as I only glossed over multiplayer issues out of curious to see what some ppl have going on, assuming if course if you or others playing on gamepass.
If you are playing on steam and no cross play and never played open dev I got nothing I know of at that point you could try other than a fresh install. My friend on gamepass had to manually do that because for whatever reason he never got the recent patch but I did on steam and he couldn't manually get it for some reason yet a fresh install fixed that for him.
As we said in the blogpost release last Friday (just before the latest Patch went live, so the "patch after next" is now the next patch to be released, most likely in late September)
We’re already hard at work on the patch after the next one as well, but that one will take a little longer to be finished and released. In addition to more bug fixes, we want this patch to improve multiplayer and include a balance pass on several aspects of the game, such as cultures.
Until that patch releases, I would suggest trying to keep your multiplayer matches small to medium-sized. Unfortunately, a larger number of players in the match increases the likelihood of running into problems.
And as much as we would like to actively reply to all concerns and threads on the forums, our community team is small and we need to focus our efforts. At the current stage soon after release, collecting feedback and passing it along to the production team is crucial for us, so we often do not have the time to write replies.

Xbox game pass bricks for us pretty hard, we all bit the bullet and bought the game on steam for the beta patches. None of us played opendev or any betas, we all uninstalled Xbox and did a fresh instal on steam. I'm curious as to how many players you're playing with? We can get to turn 170ish with 4 players but anything higher than that bricks the game.
That being said even with 4 players we can't get a game to go past the 2nd/3rd era without crashes or lobby breaking. The most recent beta patch seems to have fixed some of the "disconnected from host" issues but the game just will crash over and over for people at a certain turn or a battle will break the save file and even when going back previous turns we maybe get to move 1-2 turns before another issue arises. It gets to a point where you're doing 1-2 turns every 15 min due to trying to get people back in the game.

Understandable and thanks for the response, so it seems 2-3/4 players will get you pretty far (around turn 170-200) but still just has issues. Right now we're just going to hold off on playing till the sept. patch hits. :/
Can confirm that if none of the human players end their turn while the units are still moving or take actions after the end turn button has been hit, the stability improves massively. It's clearly an issue with changing underlying values & multipliers after the turn has been ended.
We are two MP and almost all time we wait indefinitly to switch to the next turn after cliking "end of the turn" .. we have to reload the game for playing only one or two turns... Is their a way to improve it ? Seems worst with the new patch
