The devs have put a lot of effort into making posters for the tech tree but it is really the civics tree that is shrouded in mystery. Is there a full guide on what exact events/choices trigger what civics? The wiki has some information but the requirements for unlocking most civics is missing. I've played a few games and have never unlocked capital punishment.
Is being at the extreme left or right of ideologies a requirement to unlock certain civics? Do you have to do certain things on top of that to to unlock them? It feels like I am making decisions that cut off later civics from the very beginning of the game because of the ideological path I have chosen.
Amplitude seems to want to keep the events/civics “mysterious” Which is STUPID. Have a randomness factor sure, but let us KNOW what the randomness factors are.
By now, prerequisites for unlocking civics are shown in the civics screen (which I welcome), but what is the reasoning behind the entire civics screen being disabled until you unlock your first civics? I think you need 5 population to unlock Legitimacy & Founding Myths, but as far as I know that info is not visible anywhere in-game. With all other prerequisites being open information, I don’t really see a reason to hide the first one.
