Hello all!

First of all, game is wonderful overall, full of fresh ideas and concepts, big thanks to designer's and devs!

I think some polishing has to be done, but it is matter of time.

My question is: Is there some mechanic/possibility to conquer province, that is attached to enemy city? I don't want it all, just one province.

Expansionist cultures can do that with their "under one banner" ability, but they do that against players they are not at war with. If you force peace, I think you may be able to demand attached territories, especially those you have grievances to take, without needing to take the whole city.

I would say there's no way to do otherwise, pardon a joke.

The way the peace deals work you need to take every territory individually, doesn't matter if it is attached to the city or not. Analogically, if you take a city during peace deal, the territory you'll get will be just the one with main plaza, without all the ones attached to it. Just be careful about which grievances you demand, as you'll be forced to take those territories in a peace deal (you can ransack/liberate them later on, though, so no biggie, but a different AI may swoop in to befriend them resulting in border gore), but at least the game provides you with additional war score for those.

That's why I'd like to have some possibilities for fabricating more generic grievances using Influence, with a cooldown of course, at least for affinities it would make sense for. Expansionists should be able to artificially create a demand for a territory of their choice, while Militarists should be able to create a demand that is simply 'pay us money or we'll attack'. Either that or give us ability to demand either the subject of grievance or monetary compensation, so that it's easier to wage wars for loot, rather than lands that I may not be interested in taking or cities that would go over the cap anyway, so we'll need to liberate them anyway.
