Still Waiting on Mac Release

Has Amplitude announced when the Mac release will be ready? I pre-ordered Humankind to try and participate in the Beta but they didn't have Mac access then (I guess that should have been the first clue). It is getting frustrating for those of us who pre-ordered prior to the announcement of the delay, especially given the lack of information provided. If anyone could point to a resource where I could find out when things will be available, I would greatly appreciate it.

It is funny because it allows downloading and updating it in Steam but I can't launch it.  Good thing I have a Windows machine too ;)

Prior to launch they said mac has been postponed for about a month after humankind launches on windows. You can check this for yourself in one of the devblogs they posted.

This means they got around 2-3 weeks still at a minimum. Maybe raise a question if you haven't been updated by the end of this month.

It's called "Humankind progress report + Mac version postponed".

How did you come up with 2-3 weeks min? The game was launched on 8-17 for Windows. 9/17 is 8 days away, yet no communication at all.

I came up with it by reading the devblog I pointed you to. Where it says around a month, and you can figure by looking at a calendar they have around 2 more weeks, possibly 3 if you assume they meant they need an entire month not that they meant they needed exactly 28 to 31 days from launch.

Regardless I've given you the information and tools on hand to satiate your Mac inquiry until they either say something to update you or the end of the month has occured and they haven't said anything which prompts you to ask "what the heck guys" at that point.

Where in the world does a month not mean around 30 days but anywhere from 6-7 weeks or 49 days. You have provided nothing of value to this post. No new information other then you feel a month is really 6-7 weeks... And where do you get off telling people they are not entitled to information on something they purchased that is currently unusable?

@gkaytor My lord way to take it all dramatic like.

I gave you the information, the only information that was concerning the original topic. It then devolved into an argument over semantics. Do whatever you want with the information you have before you I won't respond further lol. You can sit there and argue with a random guy on forums as to what the devs meant by saying "around a month" if you'd like, sure, if you find that productive. I have no stake in any of this and merely helped you with some of the ample free time I had last night in providing a poke at the dev blog posted prior to launch.

Look I'll even do you a favor and copy paste the devblog post for your perusal and others if you feel inclined to attack me further for simply giving you information. Least that way you have the source material on hand at least lol.

Mac version postponed a Few Weeks

We’d also like to let you all know that the Mac version will be postponed about one month. We are still having some issues with certain configurations, as well as with multiplayer.

This was a difficult decision for us, but we really wanted to take the time and make sure that the PC version was as good as possible, but also ensure that we had the necessary time to give the Mac version all the love that it is equally deserving of!

We do apologize and thank you for your patience and continued support.

You are welcome btw.

Why would I thank you, you provided no value. We all already knew the dev's posted about a month after windows release for Mac. Posting that was certainly not the "enlightening" nugget of information that you think it is. Heck the original poster even mentioned that post in his original inquiry.

Regardless I've given you the information and tools on hand to satiate your Mac inquiry until they either say something to update you or the end of the month has occured and they haven't said anything which prompts you to ask "what the heck guys" at that point.

You gave no new information and you certainly didn't satiate anyone by regurgitating a month old dev post. And I think as a customer, I'm certainly in my rights to say "what the heck guys" at this point. I pre-purchased the game as a sign of good faith prior to that blog post, and it is getting awfully close to a month with nary a peep from Amplitude. It's that lack of communication that we are frustrated with.
