When I set up a map a bit bigger than the standard 40% amount of land (like 50 to 70%), I usually come up with huge chunks of map with no resources whatsoever, neither luxury or strategic. On the contrary, there are small portions of the map dense with all kind of resources. Do you also experience this? I find those maps quite uninteresting to play with.

The quantity of resources is being set by the map size. If you increase the land %, the probability to have territory without resources increases. Unfortunately, there is no in game option to increase/decrease the amount of resource nodes.
