Yes, there's no need to be stingy with the resources. And to be honest, when they're limited, it's actually the AI that gets hurt more because humans can always target them.

There's three things I would like to see (and I hope they're easy to implement):

1) A setting on the game set-up where you can choose how many luxury and strategic resources there are (few, average, many)

2) Some adjustment to the resource allocation whereby each resource is not all clumped together. Each resource should be spread across the map instead of 100% clumped in one area. There should be a large clump, and then several small or even individual resources. Nearly all of the luxury resources in the game are found across multiple continents naturally.

3) Some adjustment to the resource terrain selection. I am tired of only seeing silver/mercury/lead in tundra only. Tea should be found in wet areas, not plains. Gems. marble, and gold should not only be found in the desert. Salt should also be found along the coast. Some other things like that. There are numerous resources where the constraints are too tight or unrealistic.
