Quick question.

I just conquered an enemy city and I found out it was in the process of building a wonder. Now I have the ability to work towards completing it. I assume I will get all the bonus when it's finished, correct? (additional note: that was the final city of that empire so they are now out of the game).

I'm questioning because it's allowing me to claim a new wonder. Usually you cannot claim a wonder until you finish building yours. So the game is not recognizing that I am building another empire's wonder.

Has anyone had this situation before? I don't want to spend 19 turns to finish it just to learn I don't get the benefit.

You definitely get the "owning" benefits for it, and I think you will get the fame benefit for finishing it as well.

I believe the post above is incorrect.

There is the city that the wonder is built in, and there is the city that orders the wonder be built, and these do not have to be the same. If they are not, and you capture an in-progress wonder without capturing the city that ordered it, you will be unable to build it yourself (the game will say the city is 'occupied'. I assume in the opposite scenario, where you capture the city that ordered the wonder but not the city in which it is placed, then you will not get the benefits of having the wonder. You need to *have* the wonder to benefit from it, not just build it, in the same way if you build a wonder in a city and then the city gets captured by another player you no longer benefit from that wonder.

You need to fully claim (ie get in a peace deal) the city where the wonder tile is located.

I've built a Wonder that was being made by an AI.

I absolutely cannot remember if I gained the 100 fame but I 100% know it doesn't count against your Wonder count (for claiming purposes) and you still get the benefit of it ofc as it is in your territory. I mean the same can be said for taking over a fully built Wonder you get the bonus of the Wonder minus the initial fame for doing so.

You get the fame for building it. I just did.
