halving outpost cost does nothing for the bantu - thoughts?

I wonder if it's intentional that taking the Customary Laws choice on the Legitimacy civic does nothing for the Bantu? Since they have to use 4 Bagendi Pioneers to make an outpost, I was under the impression that Customary Laws's -50% outpost creation cost would mean that only 2 pioneers are needed to found an outpost, but after taking that choice it seems I still need to use four.

I wonder if this is intentional? I do think that only having to use 2 pioneers to make an outpost would be pretty OP but I was hoping there'd be some sort of discount regardless. Maybe for the Bantu specifically, Customary Laws could reduce the necessary number of pioneers to 3.

What do y'all think?

They still get an influence outpost cost discount for their regular units, so I don't really think they need a helping hand with that.

Is this feature only for Bantu (consume 4 scouts to found the outpost) or for all the cultures now? Sorry for asking, I haven't played since the beginning of the december and decided to play with the new cultures today.

Oh dang I could've sworn i checked if i was able to claim outposts still with regular units, but i just rechecked and sure enough i can still use other units to claim territory with influence. My bad!

No worries! It's a new mechanic exclusive to the Bantu. Or rather, it's exclusive to their units, Bagendi Pioneers, which can persist into later eras. It sort of acts as an extension of the nomadic era, since Bagendi Pioneers can find food and reproduce just like nomadic era tribe units (tho they take more food overall to reproduce). Haven't played long enough to see if the game keeps spawning in food resources for the Bagendi Pioneers after Ancient era tho.

I've found pure food spawns seem to stop from Classical on, but they can still get food from ransacking and battles.

(There's also no more deer/mammoths after initial era too)

This. Do you REALY want to give Bantu a 2 pop discount on outpost creation?

It´s only for Bantu.

The mechanic of the curiosities (the way in which Pioneers grow) stop once you move to the next era (counting that you are not trascending, otherwise you keep it).

Also keep in mind that the outpost doesn't completely 'consume' the scouts - you can buy all four of them back with influence once the outpost is established. The outpost establishes with four population.
