Playing a game as the Carthaginians and Swahili, noticed that my Cothons aren't getting the same stability bonuses as standard harbors and the Bandari

I tried including a screenshot but getting an 'unable to parse image' error

Also, the Swahili unique unit transport only applies while in the Medieval era?

That's not how the Norse one works, is it?

You are missing the fact that those are unit specific abilities. Norse unit ability is just having the Early Modern Deep water invincibility trait in Midieval. Because the unit it upgrades to has that ability in early modern, you don’t lose out on it when upgrading. The Mtepe has a contemporary unit ability in Midieval era, which is why you lose out on that ability the moment you research the stronger transport unit in Early Modern.

Gotcha! Thanks for the explanation!

Ditto on the "Playing a game as the Carthaginians and Swahili, noticed that my Cothons aren't getting the same stability bonuses as standard harbors and the Bandari."  In particular, the Cothons get +10 stability for being a harbor, but do not get any further stability bonus from district adjacency.

Also, finding it interesting that as Swahili, you can build *both* generic harbors *and* Banari districts.

Not sure what the significance of that is?

I know Nigeria needs to be able to build both types because their district has very specific requirements, maybe its just a holdover from that?

I haven't picked Phoeonecians in a while, them and Carthage can't build regular harbors?

It probably isn't worth picking Norse is the Swhaili can build both for if you go for the Multiole docks strategy.

I don't believe that Carthaginians can built both Cothon and generic harbors... haven't played Phoenicians since the DLC release

Doesn't look like Norseman can build Naust and generic harbors... must be a unique thing for Swahili, wonder why?
