Changelog to Allan Newell patch states some movies were added and one whould expect it to be actual videos played, when parts of tech tree were unlocked. Yet, I haven't seen any after unlocking everything. Bug or feature?
There are supposed to play after a few key techs (one per era?), e.g., Philosophy, Writing, or Feudalism. It has worked fine in all my games - did you use any mods? Or did you disable the narrator? Maybe that disables the movies as well.
