Nothing fancy here, just a set of exotic feathers used as a fan by nobles and Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt and Nubia. Like these ones :

For the Maya, I can't remember what glyph the artist used, but it was a simplified version of a glyph from a wall. 

For Edo Japan, it' the Tokugawa symbol, and for modern Japan it is a torii and a sun. And it was more a combination of two very well known symbols rather than a reproduction of a particular image
