I'm working on completing the Smite the Wicked achievement. I declared war against another culture that had a traitor badge. I wasn't at war with anyone else, and it wasn't a surprise declaration. However, when I exited the game, I noticed the event was not showing any progress towards the goal. Does it only show up once you've chosen the Mughals?

Yes, it only shows when you are the mughals, you can't do it as any other culture....

Wait, so I can't get a level 2 Hero badge in the medieval era, switch to Mughals and declare another war to get level 3?  I just tried that and it didn't work.  I have to get all 3 levels as the Mughals?  I have to start all over?  I am so angry at the Holi event, what a garbage event that is too time consuming,  I also have to use the Greener Pastures 30 times (300 TURNS) and Set up a 10 player game and cross my fingers the AI that picks a Imperialist culture and gets a vassal?

This is too much, I'm done.

Thanks! Cheesy as hell but it might be the only way to complete this event. Now I only need to get lucky enough for some AI to get the traitor badge (I recently set up a game against a bunch of aggressive / treacherous leaders but it didn't work).

I'm going for it and yes, it was not well designed at all. You basically have to create very weird games to get it. I got the one against an imperialist culture on a normal game because on HK you will regularly fight against some AI that has vassals, so that one is easy when playing on high difficulties. But for the greener pastures silly requirement you have to play on the fastest speed (that way you can trigger the ability every 3 turns) and remove most win conditions so the game lasts longer than it normally would. It's an extremely artificial setting and not fun at all.

Can anyone confirm if Khaar's tip has worked? I tried it on mine, and I don't get the badge triggered at all.

I just completed it that way, so yes, it does work. Make sure the AI you're declaring war on has the traitor-medal and that your war-support is at least 80 (unless you're declaring war after he refused a demand of yours, than your war support is irrelevant). Khaar's tip saved me potential hours lol
