Helllo everyone,

I just learnt that i have to activate my mods every single time, when i launch my game or when i open the mod browser ingame.

This is such annoying. Do you have tips, programs or somethig else, that will load it self the mods every time i launch my game ?

I searched for this info and found some tips but i have to be a better way for it.

I don't understand why this game does not have steam workshop. Things would be more easier.

Having workshop wouldn't resolve this issue. The issue is in the game and how it deals with mods. You would still have the same problem with workshop mods.

No it would be the same thing. It is just how the game handles mods.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.  On one hand, it would be convenient to have mods enabled all of the time.  On the other hand, enabling mods disables achievements which would be annoying if you accidentally left a mod enabled and then complete the requirements to unlock an achievement.  Given that achievements are required to unlock AI traits, I would be more in favor of a mod auto-load if achievements were not disabled.  (Of course, the character creation is a bit of a mess but that's a different topic.)  I think that the motivation there was to prevent "achievement unlocker" mods, but I don't see where that's a big deal.  If someone wants to cheat for vanity items like achievements and AI features, then let them.  Just make sure you aren't penalizing people who are trying to unlock them legitimately while trying to enjoy mods.

Easy, separate main menu buttons to start a normal game and game with mods.

Hey,

Just a heads up, we have been working on this lately. This is coming in one of the future updates.

Cheers.

Does using mods disable achievements? I have had trouble getting certain achievements (Genghis Khan, for instance, when I know that I have gotten 18 builder stars).

At the same time, I am pretty sure that I got the I'm a Lumberjack achievement with mods.

Or perhaps you mean that it disables the in-game achievements, and not the Steam ones?

Yep, the mods disable the achievements, which make sense in a way, otherwise some of the achievements could be really easy to get (with the correct mods)

While this is true, a quick online search indicates that it is seemingly possible to exploit Steam achievements via means that are completely out of Amplitude's control.  So if someone is insistent on cheating the Humankind achievement system, they don't need a game mod to do it.

It would be really nice to see the game remember the previously loaded mods, like Civ 6 does.

Hope the Devs implement that. Meanwhile, check if this guide can help :

Used the bat version since I have mods with long names and it worked great except with "Official Endless™  Mod" (pretty ironic) because the ™ character screws it up and causing an infinite loading screen. Is there a way to circumvent this other than having to manually activate this one mod every time i launch the game?

Edit: Alright I've figured it out. By adding chcp 65001 at the start of the bat file, makes it read special characters correctly and loads the mods.
