Era advancement speed is insane. I am running a mod to make it 14 Era stars and I STILL blaze through Eras. I am not even half through the Industrial area tech tree playing on a high difficulty and slowest speed and I am choosing the last culture. Any ideas on how I can mod the game to slow it down, or a mod that exists to slow it down? I really hope in future updates/xpacs they slow it down or at least give the option to slow it down. The 5th Culture lasted a measly 45 turns in a 600 turn game WITH 14 era stars! I'm not even trying to speed, just researching techs, building a few districts rockets you though.  What is the game like at "normal" speed? must be like 10 turns an era, who wants to play like that? 

Why do you want to slow down collecting era stars? Era stars are essential way of accumulating fame, which is the only metric to win the game in Humankind. So, isn't earning fame more quickly a good thing?

That sounds like a somewhat right pace; advancing into Era VI after you've researched almost half of the tech available in Era V. What's actually wrong with this.

Sorry, I don't know a way to achieve what you're asking. I'm just curios to know the reason behind your quest.

I use the vanilla improvement mod and it really slows down era stars. They use a formula that increases the next era star requirement depending on your current era's gains. So it is very rare that you would go into the next era with stars already.

I don't think you understand.... I would want it to slow down for everyone, me, the AI, etc. The eras go by way too quickly. I want to actually be able to play a good amount of turns per era. If you want another reason, having towers of glass and steel (modern buildings) when you still have horses and sailing ships just looks dumb. Moving up an era should require certain techs as well as the era starts so it can't happen too quickly.

Thanks Ill take a look. I have seen it, the mod makes some changes I don't agree with, and others I don't think change enough so I use s few light self made mods but maybe Ill try a game with it on and see how I like it.

That's exactly the way I like to play and do play Humankind. I take my time in each era trying to complete all emblematic quarter construction and collect as many stars as possible (usually getting all gold stars) and don't rush through eras just because I earned enough star to advance. That is also how AI behaves. They stick to current era and keep trying to collect stars if opponents don't rush. I just don't need a mod to slow down the game.
