Machu Picchu can break the game

There are apparently other posts on this topic, but they didn't seem to get much traction. As I'm under the opinion that it breaks the game in a most heinous way, I figured I'd try again.

Machu Picchu grants half the food yielded by the city it's build in to your other cities. Alone this is powerful, but not too broken. However, when you stack it with Angkor Wat and a powerful faith generating city, things get extremely unreasonable extremely quickly.

I understand that it can be potentially difficult to pick up multiple wonders, but the potential pay-offs are just game breaking. Your non-Machu cities will be generating an extra 400+ food on top of whatever they yield. You'll find yourself fighting to get enough job slots to keep all your citizens working.

Of course, I still haven't mentioned the most broken aspect of this exploit. It also applies to outposts.

My outposts currently hang around 25 population. I made a new city with four territories total this era. It has 108 population (and -3000 food, but a little starvation is no problem, right?).

Mhm, it's weird, for longest time it was barely working and now it feels kinda unreasonable. Maybe that bonus should be half (or all, whichever would make more sense) of food generated by that city as a total bonus and then additionally divided between all eligible cities and outposts.

I don't really consider it broken, personally. Rather, I look at it as "if you are able to build these specific wonders in a city that also has the necessary faith infrastructure in place, you get rewarded quite well." From personal experience, that actually rarely ever comes together. Either Angkor Wat or Machu Picchu gets sniped by an AI absolutely flying through era stars in 90%+ of all my games.

Well, what is broken, imo, is that the MP description mentions 'cities', but it boosts your outposts through the roof.

Hey there,

As you may have guessed, this is indeed a bug: Machu Picchu should only buff your Cities, not your Outposts!

Related, the Taíno Legacy Trait, "Zemis Worship", also boosts your outposts.  I was pretty easily able to get 12 pop on outposts on Blitz (and quickly too!) settling and creating a new city with 30+ people by attaching territories.  Is that intended?  I've been wanting to post about this for a few days now, but haven't tried the Taíno in Fast or Normal yet, so I'm not sure how anomalous it is.  I think I'll still make a thread about it, though.

Anytime I have Machu Picchu, all my outposts get about 100 people so whenever I attach them, there's a huge overstack of people.

I think the bonus should be like this: It takes 50% of the food production of that city and DIVIDES it between all your other cities. Not every city gets 50%. Along with not sending food to outposts.

Excellent! I'm fine with it being a powerful wonder with enough investment, but it was a bit much in relations to outposts.
