Stealth Units

Is there anywhere a good guide how exactly stealth units work ?
The Description says that only units one tile awy can see them, but the doesn't seems to work rigth.
Sometimes the AI saw me even it shouldn't, sometime i see units from the AI i should see (like an uboat somewhere i and my Ai buddies had no units)
So did i miss something ?

Stealth unit that has been seen trespassing lose their stealth ability until they move out of the trespassing territory, maybe that's what you're observing ?

just so I understand that correctly. Only enemy units can see my stealth units ?
No city, outpost, trade route, trading posts, or whatever can see them ?

Districts can see stealth units too. In particular, the Authority side of the Government ideology axis grants additional vision and detection range to districts.

Yeah, the fact that districts can see Stealth Units at range means Stealth can be unreliable for scouting enemy territory because they're likely to be spotted (and then need to leave territory before they can stealth again).


Stealth can be great for being surprise reinforcements for your own armies, though!

Its always good to dev responses in here.  I think the stealth system needs some sort of overhaul.  I've never been able to find an effective way to use stealth units.  At the very least the player needs some sort of feedback on detection.

I think we are all aggreing that some overhaul might be nice at some point :)

Any ally of your ally can see your stealth unit's regardless of range.


Even if your at war with them


This makes them useless in multiplayer

Stealth units should stay hidden even from allies.
They should also be able to regain stealth if they leave the detection area.

Wow, wild.  Allies' propagation of vision seems to go a bit far in this game.  I wouldn't want my allies' allies to have any visibility on my units, but only downgraded to "share map, not vision" levels with me.  (My allies would update their maps from my units vision, and pass those maps on to their allies or anyone they're "share maps" with)

Thx and how far is the standart detection range of Districts (how much fields) ?
