Stealth Units can be really strong for ambushes, but it seems rather counter-intuitive that the in-game model for an army shows units that I shouldn't be able to see. This has two problematic consequences, the first being that obviously I am now able to see through the AI's ambush, and the second being that players unfamiliar with this particular unit's stealth attributes might assume this is a bug. The way army models are presented when stealth units are included should be reconsidered.

Additionally, I'm not sure at all how the AI treats a player's stealth units. I had the situation that the AI retreated from a fight that they should win based on the available information - but not if they took stealth units into account as well.
Well, we have this dev post from a while ago "the AI "cheat" and doesn't take in account the stealth to take decision right now", pretty sure there was also a thread on detection range being finicky to avoid and dev confirmed the AI 'sees' stealth units on overworld map.
It really does seem like Stealth was put in as a stump for development further down the road and isn't really functional right now.

One important question: Assuming steal units were behaving properly, as intended, with no bugs, when should stealth units be revealed? During the "Attack/Retreat" phase (when reinforcements hidden in forests and hills are revealed, but when stealth units maybe shouldn't be?), or as they're revealed on the battle map over the course of battle?
If stealth units are revealed during Attack/Retreat", then an enemy is right to realise they're suddenly outmatched and retreat.
If stealth units are revealed only when the enemy would see them on the field of battle, then players and the AI should correctly lack that knowledge before the battle

Presently, all Stealth units are revealed to be within an army when you attack it, so that is the AI reacting in the same manner as a human would since both learn of the stealth units then. Whether this is how it should be is another question entirely, but based on the game my original image was taken from, the AI is reacting in a similar manner as a human would since they both have the same knowledge available to them.
