Why is this still in the game. At least make it take a few turns and not have them appear right where they were so they're somebody else's problem.

Thinking about it more, giving them a debuff where they can't attack/raze for 10 (speed adjusted) turns would do a lot. They can stay in the game by grabbing curios and it's even an advantage for that, but they're likely locked out of the hunter star and don't have much agency wrt to other tribes (they can still bodyblock for revenge if somebody is needlessly slaughtering them).

If that was the case then you could get game over by hitting a mammoth and then being hit by AI. Or you could "beat" the hardest difficulty by making a small map and rushing Harappans to kill the AI right out of the gate. The Neolithic era is not supposed to be an era where you defeat each other, it's just some time to scout where you want your starting city without being penalized for not immediately putting your city down on the first turn.

Wait, so now only player gets respawned with a single Tribe? Or is it something turn-dependent? I got killed by a Mammoth some time ago and got just a single guy back, thought 'oh, cool change' and didn't think twice about it.
